Township Board

 The Township Board is an elected body comprised of a chairperson and four supervisors. Each elected representative serves a two year term. The board's primary function is to provide legislation, policy and decision-making for the township. They also provide the annual budget, which determines the tax levy. The township chairperson presides over the Annual Meeting, and all Town Board meetings.  The elected officials now serving are:

  Richard Green, Chairman

 Don Lund, Supervisor 1

Tom McGinnis, Supervisor 2

Jay Damkoehler, Supervisor 3

 Mary Haley, Supervisor 4

 

The Chairman, Supervisor 1 and Supervisor 2 serve until April 2011. Supervisor 3 and Supervisor 4 serve until April 2012. The township  uses a caucus process, conducted in January, to determine the candidates for the Spring Election when local officials are elected.

Any resident may contact a supervisor or the chairperson regarding an issue or concern. To bring an issue to the Town Board, contact the Clerk  by calling 873-3063 or come in person to the Town Hall at 2354 County Highway N during office hours. The Clerk will assist you in providing any necessary documentation and advise you about agenda dates and scheduling. 

It is necessary to appear before the Board for certain occupational licenses, land use and zoning issues, land divisions, variances, Conditional Use Permits, acquiring a second driveway access, and event permits. The clerk can assist you in preparing these items.

Meetings

Township  Board meetings are held at the Pleasant Springs Town Hall, 2354 County Highway N, Stoughton, WI 53589-2873, beginning at 6:00 p.m. on the first and third Tuesday of each month, unless otherwise noticed .

The Annual meeting is conducted on the second Tuesday of April unless otherwise published and posted, as required by law.Town meetings to adopt the levy and highway expenditures are an important part of the budget process and occur in November.
