The
Town Board meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at 6:00 p.m.
The Plan Commission meets on the
2nd Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
All meetings are held at
the Town Hall, 2354 County Highway N in Pleasant Springs, unless noticed
otherwise. |
The Brush Burning/Compost Site at 1754 Tower Drive will be
open to receive compost materials (grass clippings and leaves) and clean brush 4
inches in diameter and smaller, on the following Saturdays from 8:00 am to 1:00
pm: April 4 and 11, May 2 and 9, June 6, July 11, August 1, September 12,
October 3 and 10 and November 7 and 14.
Holiday tree disposal will be on
January 2 and 9, 2010. |

and no reservation may interfere with town government functions.
Fee in
advance: $20.00 fee and a $40.00 refundable damage deposit. Contact

The Stoughton Parks and Recreation Department
offers a wide variety of seasonal programs, activities, and leagues
available to ages kindergarten to adult. Eligibility requirements are
for residents and workers within the Stoughton School District.

The Stoughton Youth Center
provides a safe atmosphere where middle school students can go after
school and participate in a variety of activities, such as basketball,
pool, and video games.

| Controlled Burns |

Call the Stoughton Fire Dept (873-7218), the
McFarland Fire Dept (838-3152), or the Cottage Grove Fire Department(839-4343)
and register with them. Failure to follow these instructions or if
the fire department is called will result in a $225 fine.

Make sure it is a safe time to burn. Do not burn when
conditions are overly dry or windy. Mornings are preferable to avoid
bothering neighbors. You must have a water source at the burn site.

Fires must be extinguished and
cold within one half hour of
sunset. This means no smoldering embers.

Keep materials to be burned in small manageable piles
no bigger than 4' x 4'.

Be mindful of wind direction-please don't create a
smoke nuisance for your neighbor.

NEVER LEAVE THE FIRE UNTIL IT IS COMPLETELY OUT.
YOU MUST ATTEND THE ENTIRE BURN.

You may register to
vote at the Town Hall during normal office hours. Bring your
Wisconsin Driver's License or Wisconsin ID Card. If you are
new to Wisconsin, or new to Pleasant Springs, please call the Clerk
for registration information.

Call the Clerk at
873-3063 to obtain information about absentee voting.

All voting is
conducted at the Town Hall, 2354 County Road N.

The next election is
in the Spring Primary held in February 2010. The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. A
Food Drive will be conducted at the April and November elections. All donations will be
taken to the Stoughton Food Pantry.

Seven ballots were
mailed to military electors for the Spring Election held on April 7,
2009. At the close of the polls, seven ballots had not been returned.
